100 Year Old Shelf

100 Year Old Shelf

$1,550.00

While the plank itself is salvaged from a mining camp high in the Inyo Mountains, the pulleys have their own 100 year old story.  The plank is only finished on one side allowing the past to shine on the remaining sides.  Showing the weathering and centuries of use at an elevation of over 9,000ft in the southern Inyo Mountains, the plank remains almost as it was found.  Salvaged from a silver mining town that once flourished in the 1870's, the town remains now only as a ghost town.

The pulleys are from a Midwest barn.  Seeing their prime use in the 1920's.  They were used in barns to hoist hay into barn lofts.  Put these pulleys back to work in your home, displaying the 100 year old plank.  The pulleys are hanging from aged wall brackets and aged chain and clevis hooks matching the character and time period of the shelf.  Take a closer look and you will see the brackets fastened with antique square nails and square nuts salvaged from another reclaimed project.
